Making Their Mark: Sharkey & Issaquena County

The historical marker for the counties of Sharkey and Issaquena will honor 11 African American men elected to the legislature in the 19th century.

Current status (April 21, 2026): approved by Board of Supervisors and MDAH, submitted to manufacturer for delivery in late 2026
