Henry P. Scott (Issaquena County)

Born: c. 1826 North Carolina
Died: fall 1899 in Issaquena County, MS

Planter. Also served as sheriff (appointed by Governor Alcorn and then reelected) and tax collector of Issaquena County. Estimated birth year varies widely: 1846 in the 1878 House Journal, 1825 on the 1870 census, and 1830 on the 1880 census. Listed with wife Nancy Green and children on the 1870 census in Vicksburg and the 1880 census in Issaquena County.

Scott signed his will on August 13, 1899, and it was probated on October 3. Nancy died in Warren County in 1924.
