Making Their Mark: Monroe & Chickasaw County

The historical marker for the counties of Monroe and Chickasaw will honor 8 African American men elected to the legislature in the 19th century.

Current status (July 20, 2026): approved by county supervisors and MDAH Board of Trustees, order being sent to manufacturer for delivery in early 2027
