William Johnson

William Johnson (Hinds County)

State House: 1872-1873

Born: Hinds County, MS

Director of schools in Raymond. An 1871 article in the Clarion-Ledger says he was “born and raised in this immediate vicinity.” Because of his common name, I have been unable to pinpoint Johnson on any census. There are multiple possibilities on the 1870 census, and by 1880, he had left Mississippi.
