THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI,
Lowndes County.
CIRCUIT COURT,
October Term, A. D., 1874
The Grand Jurors of the State of Mississippi, elected, empanelled, sworn and charged to inquire for the body of the County of Lowndes — upon their oath present, that Robert Gleed — late of said County, on the 15th day of October A.D. 1874, in said County, in and upon one G. T. Smith in the peace of said State, then and there being, did make an assault. And the said Robert Gleed — with a certain deadly weapon, to-wit, a pistol — did then and there strike, shoot — and wound the said G. T. Smith — with intent him, the said G. T. Smith — then and there feloniously, willfully, and of malice aforethought to kill and murder, against the peace and dignity of the State of Mississippi.
