MR. LANDERS (col.) requests us to publish the following explanation of his vote against the Senate Privilege Tax bill:

MR. SPEAKER: I vote “no” on the privilege tax bill, because I believe the bill to be wrong in principle, burdensome to the business interests of the State, and detrimental to that policy that unite capital to the State. In fine, it simply transfers the tax from the large land-holder and capitalist to the struggling business man.
