L. C. Moore

L. C. Moore (Bolivar County)

State House: 1890

According to the 1890 House Journal, he was a minister. Lived in Australia, which was a small town on the Mississippi River. Served on the committees for county affairs and investigating state offices. In an 1890 speech before the House, he stated that he was “born in Mississippi but raised in a Northern State.”

Note: I have done my best to make sure that the newspaper clippings below refer to the L. C. Moore of Bolivar and not the Lemuel C. Moore of Issaquena, who was living in Washington, DC at the time L. C. Moore represented Bolivar.
