No Recourse For Damages.
The jury in the Federal Court yesterday returned a verdict for the defendant in the suit of J. Allen Ross against the Illinois Central Railroad Company. Ross is a negro attorney who sued for $25,000 damages because he was put off an Illinois Central train at the south end of Fourteenth street. The jury held that the circumstances were such as to leave him no recourse for damages.
