Henry Craytin (Yazoo County)

According to the 1880 House Journal, he was a farmer and minister. Listed on the 1870, 1880, and 1900 census in Yazoo County with wife Nancy and children, always with farming as his occupation. His estimated birth year varies widely on the census. In 1900, his birth date is given as Aug 1843, but his estimated age is given as 66, which leads me to believe that the date should have been Aug 1833, closer to the ages given on the 1870 and 1880 censuses.
The spelling of his surname also varies widely, including Crayton and Creighton; I’ve used the spelling provided in the House Journal. Later records indicate that his descendants through son Solomon “Sol” Creighton used that spelling.
