Mr. McWillie nominated Jacob Wonders, of Hinds.
Mr. Bailey nominated Guilford Vaughan, of Panola.
Mr. Applewhite nominated E. W. Jackson of Lincoln.
Mr. Williams nominated H. F. Clingan, of Hinds.
Mr. Eaton nominated Mr. Mannery, of Rankin.
Mr. Sykes nominated Joseph James of Chickasaw.

Mr. Wood moved to declare Mr. Mannery elected by acclamation.
Mr. Bailey moved lay the motion on the table; carried.
Mr. McWillie withdrew the name of Jacob Wonders.

Guilford Vaughan having received a majority of all the votes, was declared elected.
