There was a Republican meeting held yesterday afternoon at Duck Pond plantation. R. H. Wood, L. J. Winston, Felix Cory, George Washington and others, were announced to address it. We understand the meeting was in the interest of R. H. Wood for Sheriff, and for a compromise ticket.
