On yesterday morning Coroner Felix Cory held an inquest on the body of one David Martin, who died in the county jail on Sunday night last. Martin was a stranger here, had been on a protracted spree, and the verdict of the jury in his case was that he died of “alcoholism.” He is supposed to have been a resident of Wisconsin, and it is thought that he was well connected there. He was committed to the county jail from the mayor’s court, before which he had been arraigned on several occasions.
