When the question to reduce the salary of members from $500 to $250 was submitted to a vote in the legislature, Judge J. M. Stone, of Madison, voted for the reduction, and Alfred Handy voted against it. We accord to Judge Stone all praise for this act of justice to a tax-ridden people, and hold Alfred Handy up to the people for their censure, whose servant he is, as unfaithful and unworthy of his hire. The salary was not reduced.
