To the Republicans of Warren County:
At the request of a large number of the leading Republicans of Warren county, I hereby announce myself as a republican candidate for Sheriff – Mr. G. W. Walton having withdrawn and generously tendered his support in my behalf. I have been all my life a resident of Warren county. My property and my interests lie in this county, and I am permanently identified with this people. I pledge myself, if elected, to give every position in my gift to Republicans, and none other. I further pledge myself, if elected, to make every effort to increase the value of County Warrants, to reduce taxation, to protect the interests of every citizen, and to promote the success of the Republican party, to which I have always belonged. I respectfully ask your support.
