The popular branch of the Mississippi Legislature, although largely Republican, could not be induced to perpetrate the great fraud of seating Swann, Radical, as a member from Newton county when Bolton, Conservative, had a majority of 600 votes at the election. Bolton was seated on the 11th inst. We regret to announce in this connection, however, that Bell, Johnson, and Reese, the three colored representatives from Hinds, all voted against Bolton, thus announcing their willingness to perpetrate one of the most monstrous wrongs on the people of Newton county of which they are capable as representatives in the Legislature of the State.
