Part of State of Mississippi vs. Robert Gleed

of said oath, administered as aforesaid, proceeded to make statements and give evidence in his own behalf, in regard to a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill one G. T. Smith, which had been preferred against said Robert Gleed, before the grand jury of said County, and which the said grand jury had partially investigated, and were still considering, and which was then and there pending before them; and the said Robert Gleed, on the day and year last aforesaid, in said County, did then and there willfully, corruptly and feloniously swear falsely to material matters and things concerning the said charge so preferred, and then pending against him, before said grand jury, and then being duly inquired of by them, in substance and to the effect following, to-wit:
