Served with W. T. Montgomery and William Lewis, Jr., on the “Board of Arbitration,” a panel of civilian judges established by the Freedmen’s Bureau at Davis Bend. Member of the Warren County board of supervisors. Ran for sheriff in the Republican primary in 1871.
