
Wilson Hicks (Rankin County)

Hicks held office in the Rankin County Republican Party both before and after his term in the state legislature. He is listed as a farmer on the 1870 and 1880 census with wife Sarah and children. Sarah is a widow on the 1900 census.
Their son, Wilson D. Hicks (1865-1931), founded the Benevolent Industrial Association and was profiled in The Leading Afro-Americans of Vicksburg, Miss. (1907).
