Born: c. 1847 in Adams County, MS

Enlisted with Company C of the 6th Regiment of U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery in September 1863, later deserted. Election clerk (1871) and inspector (1872) for Helm’s Precinct of Adams County District 1. Filed an application to teach in October 1872. Appears on 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 census as a Baptist minister living with wife Ellen.
