The historical marker for the counties of Leflore, Carroll, and Grenada will be placed at the county courthouse in Greenwood to honor 4 African American men elected to the legislature in the 19th century.<\/p>\n

Current status (March 31, 2026): approved by county Board of Supervisors, application submitted to Department of Archives and History for approval at summer board meeting<\/p>\n

Eventually, this page will include the marker text and photo along with information and photos related to the community event to be held in Greenwood.<\/p>\n
