Member of the House Committee on Agriculture. According to a disparaging article in the <em>Clarion-Ledger<\/em>, he was a preacher who &#8220;belonged to a family of the most accomplished hog thieves in the State of Louisiana.&#8221; Wilson is listed, along with a Francis Wilson, on the Mississippi census returns for 1870 in Marion County, but I cannot find him among his neighbors on the federal census.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Among the negro population who were prominent in political affairs during this period, were: Sol Hart, Silas Brown, Irwin Foster, Jim Pittman and Michael Wilson.
