SOCIAL EQUALITY. The bill introduced in the Senate yesterday by the Hon. Wm. Gray, colored, guaranteeing equal rights to all persons of whatever race or color, on railroads, steamboats, stage lines, hacks, hotels, saloons and places of amusement, met with decided opposition from some of the most Radical members of the Senate. Mr. Gibbs declared that just such legislation had ruined the Republican party in Louisiana and Tennessee. The bill was referred to the Judiciary Committee. There let it rest.
