Gov A Ames—
My Dear Sir:—
I see in the papers that a bill has been introduced in the Legislature to compell the officers elect to give bonds within their own counties—
I trust you will veto it — The bond is not given to the county, but to the state — and it would therefore be unconstitutional, if it should become a law — I trust it will meet with your hearty disapproval—
Yours truly
M Howard
