J. Aaron Moore is quartered on the treasury to the tune of $100 per month under the fiction of night watchman of the Capitol – a pretended service originated for his exclusive benefit. As we have said before, in former times when there was gold and silver in the Treasury in abundance to pay the drafts of the State on presentation, no such office was deemed necessary. In addition to this sinecure of J. Aaron Moore, a colored legislator has introduced a bill to indemnify him for damages sustained in the Meridian riot. The public are beginning to think J. Aaron Moore a nuisance.
