HON. H. P. JACOBS, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, yesterday passed through Jackson, via Vicksburg and Meridian Railroad, having in charge three car-loads of immigrants, from Atlanta, Georgia, en route for the river counties. About one hundred of the number stopped off at Jackson, and were immediately supplied with places to work, in Hinds county and vicinity. We learn from the Commissioner that he has a large demand for labor, and is doing his utmost to fill it.
