Alfred Handy's will, December 29, 1911

In the name of God! Amen.

I, Alfred Handy of Canton, Madison County, Mississippi, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and being mindful of the uncertainties of this life, do make my last will and testament as follows:-

1. I desire all of my just debts to be paid as soon after my demise as convenient.

2. I give and devise to my son, Henry Handy the house and lot in the City of Canton, on the North East Corner of Walnut and Otto Streets, being Lot 15 on East Side of Walnut St., when described with reference to George and Dunlap’s Map of Canton made in 1896 and 110 feet off of the West End of the lot on which I now live on the N.W. Corner of Otto and Walnut Streets, in fee.

3. To my son, Newton Handy, I give and bequeath the sum of $1.00 as I have in my life given him valuable property.

4. All the rest and residue of my property, real, personal and mixed wheresoever situated, I give, devise and bequeath to my wife, Ella Hall Handy in fee simple.

5. I appoint my wife, Ella Hall Handy, Executrix of this my last will and direct that no bond be required of her on qualifying.
