Wow, today’s sites were just beautiful. We started off with the fortress of Nimrod, which was pretty cool. We climbed to the top of the “keep,” which provided an awesome view.

After that, we had a nice surprise. Our bus driver, Nasser, has a cherry orchard, and while we were walking around Nimrod, he bought a bunch of stuff for us to have a picnic – a bunch (oops, bad repetition there) of his cherries, which were like small plums and SO delicious; watermelon, chocolate cake, and Coke. Nasser is pretty darn cool.

We had the picnic at the site of Caesarea Philippi, which we then toured. It was beautiful, with streams and waterfalls and flowers. 4 of the guys got fig leaves and posed for a funny picture. Then Hanan and I posed for an Adam and Eve picture. There was this neat rolling thing engraved with Bible verses, and when you rolled it, it pressed the verses into the sand.

We ate lunch at McDonalds, then went to Dr. B’s favorite site, Tel Dan, which he has always joked endlessly about in class. We took a picture of him in front of a sign that said “Ancient Dan.” It was funny. They had a really cool tree called the Winnie the Pooh tree. You could climb in from the bottom and come out on top.

Anyway, that was our last site for the day. After supper, we went swimming in the Sea of Galilee again. Tomorrow is “Jesus day,” with Capernaum, etc. We will spend our first night at our final destination, Kibbutz Nir David!
